Meet us at the APM2024 in Singapore!
5. February 2024In short: The next Version of our CB#mmc Fleet Management System will come with a unique multilanguage feature. Upon logon, you can switch between English, German, French, Japanese or Korean user interfaces.
In an industry where precision and efficiency are of utmost importance, we are thrilled to introduce a groundbreaking update to our Fleet Management System that is set to redefine the standard. As a recognized innovator in developing Fleet Management Systems for shipping companies and fleet managers worldwide and since more than 30 years, we proudly announce an unprecedented update that meets the needs of our international clientele.
Historically, the maritime industry has predominantly operated in English, a language that, although commonly used aboard international vessels, does not accommodate the native languages of many crew members and fleet managers. Acknowledging this challenge, we at CODie have dedicated over a year to develop a multilingual user interface for our Fleet Management System, fulfilling the longstanding request from our customers to use the software in their native languages.
The upcoming version, which will be made available to all our customers at no additional cost, marks a significant milestone by introducing interfaces in French, German, Japanese, and Korean, with plans to expand support to Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, and Chinese (and maybe more). This multilingual expansion drastically enhances the usability and accessibility for non-English speaking users.
The translation of the user interface is powered by an advanced Artificial Intelligence, ensuring an approximate 85% accuracy in translations. Given the specialized terminology on board ships and in the maritime world in general, we anticipate the need for ongoing improvement of the translations.
To address this, we have not only implemented an internal quality check and control system, but also an innovative feature that allows all end users both on board and ashore to suggest their own corrections and translations directly within the software. By simply using a Ctrl-Shift-Click on any text on the screen, our users can instantly change a translation, and in parallel contribute to the continuous improvement of the software's linguistic accuracy, with central updates being shared by us free-of-charge across our customer base in subsequent releases.
This feature represents a pioneering step in the maritime software industry, as no other Fleet Management System currently offers such a comprehensive and user-involved multilingual capability. By facilitating easier access to important operational information in native languages, we are not only enhancing the user experience but also contributing to safety and efficiency in vessel operation.
As the maritime industry continues to evolve, the need for adaptable and user-friendly technological solutions becomes increasingly crucial. Our latest update represents a significant leap forward in meeting this need, reaffirming our position as a leader in maritime software innovation. The introduction of a multilingual interface is more than just a software update; it's another proof of our dedication to serving the global maritime community, breaking down language barriers, and fostering a more connected industry.
