Human Behavior in the Shipping Industry – Risk-Taking
17. August 2015Did you know that you can create Contracts of Employment for your seagoing staff directly out of the CODieBOARD# maritime-management-center crewing module?
The CB#mmc can manage an unlimted number of different contract templates. Once you have assigned a crew member to a vacant position, you can create the corresponding CoE on a buttons click.
Before you go ahead with printing / eMailing / pdf- or Excel-exporting […] the CoE, the mmc will copy the majority of the necessary data automatically into the contract (e.g. standard payment terms and salaries for this position (based on your pay scales), particulars of the crew member as well as next of kin data (based on the crew member’s details), vessel and flag state information (based on your vessel details), and service data (from the planning module). Of course, you can change any of the mentioned template data to your actual needs for this individual contract.
After you have created the contract and verified that everything is ok, you can go ahead and print / export the contract details to any of your CoE templates. This enables you to use the same data for different contracts, e.g. if you have different contracts for officers and ratings, or if you want to print different contracts, based on the flag state regulations of the vessel the crew member will do the service on.
Finally, the contract document is filed for this crew member as well as for this particular sea service, usually in a scanned format including the authorized signatures. If you have any changes to the contract at a later time, it may be amended by a new revision. This ensures that you can react to any needs for changes at any given time.
